What’s a cheap gift for kids coming to a Bday party?
filed in Food & Drink on Nov.03, 2009
My daughters second bday party is tomorrow. There’s only going to be about 5 other kids there, from ages 2-9yrs. I want to make little take home baggies for them so they don’t feel left out, or get a small gift for each of them. Thing is though that I’m on a budget and it’s a mix between boys and girls. Any cheap gender inspecific ideas?

The dollar store usually has a lot of cheap things. I would include stickers, fake tattoos, candy, snack type tings like trail mix or pretzels, pencils, bubbles, mini games and toys, balloons, little party favors like the noise makers, small boxes of crayons, anything that is small and cheap, young children usually like everything. Good luck!

Go to the Dollar Store. You can find a ton of stuff from which to choose. I’d look for Yo-Yos or Soap Bubbles

All kids love candy, so why not get a halloween candy type bag from dollar tree or target and put some candy inside the goody bags? Also kids like bubbles!

My daughters second birthday is the end of the month and we’ll only have a couple of kids we’re doing the party on halloween so I don’t want to be giving the kids any candy since they’ll get plenty later- so I picked up crayons(got boxes of 24 on clearance for 26cents each) and colouring books from the dollar store- I’ll go back to the dollar store to find some other little fillers but the kids are also all going to get a pumpkin to take home (we’re having the party at a farm)

I ordered temp. tattoos and the kids loved them…I’m sure you can buy them at Wal-Mart or Target. Something else I thought would have been fun is buying a face painting kit. Kids always love this kind of thing!
If you can get online and have some paper, print off free coloring pages. They also have websites that offer free pages with mazes, etc. to keep the children busy. You can buy 1 big box of crayons or get each kid their own little box. I put a paper punch through the packet I made each child (at my daughters birthday) and tied it together.
Other ideas for the baggies:
Juice Box
Teddy Graham snack size bag (better option than candy, I think)
Crazy straw (you can buy a pack at the $1)
Glow sticks ($1 store)
